Highway is a song about lesser traveled roads and paths anywhere in the world as reflected by it's cross cultural and poly rhythmic content.

The experience that I wish for this song to convey could take place riding in a paper taxi from Mumbai to Ahmednegar or in a limo crossing The George Washington Bridge. It's up to the listener's personal feelings and imagination. I kept it light on solos to encourage the non jazz lovers to take part in the experience. Feed back on that would be greatly appreciated. It's the first time I've worked with mixed meters and making it approachable to all listeners and I hope it's as much fun to listen to as it was to put together.

A cross cultural mix of old school salsa with modern day Latin and jazz rhythms providing an infectious, happy, dance able sound. The horns add a laid back, lazy-ass groove that manages to drop right in the pocket.

This song, as are all my songs, is a representation of my experience with the music and people who create and play the genres of music I love which are jazz, salsa and funk. My goal is to write music that is approachable to a wide variety of people with warmth and oneness.
